Florian Vallée was born in 1984 in Mons. A photographer by training, he started working in cinema in 2004 in Ouagadougou. In 2009, Florian joined Leïla Films and became a cameraman for documentary and museum films. Today, Florian is a freelance director. He continues to film the world and more specifically the African continent, where he has been living regularly since the age of twenty. During the Malian election campaign in 2013, Florian accompanied President Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta to the four corners of Mali. The following summer, he went to the shores of Lake Kivu to shoot a film on colonial history. Back in Belgium, Florian produced all the audiovisual content for a museum in Mons2015, European Capital of Culture. The same year, he directed the documentary "Les combattants du poil sacré", awarded at the Jean Rouch Festival in Paris. More recently, Florian participated in the making of "24H Europe" (Arte, 2019), and is finishing his new documentary "The Odyssey of the Plastic Sandal".
