Saturday afternoon was an unusual one in the ever calm town of Ruhango as thousands thronged the district stadium to attend the Primus GumaGuma Super Star 5 (PGGSS5) Road show featuring all the 10 stars in the competition. 

Each singer took their 15 minutes on stage with intent to impress the huge crowd and the judges with much improved performances compared to the previous two road shows.

The Dream boys opened the show with their trade mark hits Tujyaneiwacu, Urareaharyana and Uzahaheuronke.

TMC, the other half of the boy group said that they felt they were "at their best in everything" after fans showed their appreciation.

To follow the duo was Jules Sentore who showed that he can mix modern and traditional styles in performance of his songs Dutaramane, Kora Akazi and Ngera among others. His skilful Intore dance earned him new fans in the Southern Province town.

Bruce Melodie came third on stage, getting the massive crowd excited by his performance of Ndakwanga and Ndumiwe. The singer for the umpteenth time easily proved that he is the man to beat to the crown.

Rapper Odda Paccy followed on stage and impressed with Touch My Body, Rendezvous and Umusirimu, some of the songs that have bonded her with the fans in her first appearance in the Bralirwa-sponsored show.

The fashion savvy Active Group dared and performed a new hit Active Love, and the crowd sung along and as usual, their dance skills and team work left the crowd begging for more.

"It was a great day of performances but above all Active pulled off the afternoon's best performance, but again it is worth mentioning that all artistes did their best," said Asuman Mugizi, a music fan.

Ruhango - native Knowless Butera was received with screams and shrills from the home crowd as she got on the stage.

"It's very encouraging seeing all this support coming towards me," Knowless said.

Rafiki, the king of choga style, came on and gave the fans what they wanted with the energetic performance of Gikomando among others.

Bull dog and back-up Khalifan worked the crowd with their hits like Cinema and Nkumusasa with the support of his reliable back-up Khalifan. Bulldog delighted hip hop fans who were seen giving him the much needed support.

But then the highlight of the afternoon was singer Eric Senderi 'International Hit' who has since added 'Mayweather' to his names. To prove his point, he came on stage dressed in a boxer's trunks and a boxing glove in the other hand, to live up to his new name.

"Fans christened me that name and I had to accept it. I have been working out to be as fit as Mayweather," Senderi said. With his gyrating dancers, the eccentric singer managed to put up an entertaining performance.

TNP the other boy band in the competition closed the performances, with an improved stage presence to the excited crowd.

Joseph Mushomya, the CEO of East African Promoters thanked residents of Ruhango for showing up in big numbers to watch and support their stars.
