Michael, a journalist, is covering a conflict on the Eastern European front. He is accompanied by Ed, his local correspondent and Anita, photographer. Michael saves Ed's life in a gunfight, an act of bravery that strengthens the friendship between the two men, and Michael receives an international award at the Press Award in Chicago. Back in Africa, Michael decides to get involved in the struggle for access to water for the people, but this issue is intimately linked to political and economic interests.
