All those who have known Ricardo Rangel, say that he conveyed "the joy to communicate to others the hope for a better life"

Along the 85 years he lived, he showed his love for life and people and a great indignation with injustices.

He photographed the history of Mozambique since colonial times until present days, he photographed joy and sadness, documented victories and injustices.
For Rangel the important thing was to photograph, first and foremost, the people who are almost always forgotten, even though they represent the majority of the population.

He influenced the younger generation of photographers, not only through his photographic work, but also through his example of living his life.
